Cooking with Music
On many a Saturday morning, I could be peacefully reading or working on chores when I hear music filling the house. Maybe it is Johnny Cash playing and then Caribbean Reggae as my husband is downstairs getting a start on his famous pizzas he is making for the family.
While it is nice to quietly go about the work of the kitchen, sometimes a little music in the background can bring the enjoyment of cooking to a whole new level. It doesn’t matter what your taste in music calls for – playing it while cooking can be a therapy for the soul.
You may even want to create a cooking playlist if you haven’t done so already. Please leave a comment and share what some of your favorites are for cooking.
By the way, I would love for you to follow along with me on Instagram. Just click on the social media icon on the right side of this screen, and you are there! Until next month!

We have an open floor plan, and my kids can hear everything that comes out of my phone. So, I like to cue up Spotify with either my favorite tunes that they “need” to be aware of, or something that matches the ethnicity of what I am cooking. Made spaghetti last night, and listened to Louis Prima’s “Che La Luna” on repeat. That was fun (said the fun kid).

I totally agree with this. I put Italian Restaurant music on when I’m cooking Italian. I put on Mexican music on with Mexican food, etc. I also like Ella Fitzgerald pandora….or Michael Bubble. I swear it does make it a happier experience.

I like to listen to Christian music when cooking and cleaning up as well! Music just picks me up! Great tip, Anne.
